Air Transat Baggage

Carry-On Allowance: 1 Bag + 1 Personal Item

Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a laptop bag, handbag, or briefcase. Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. You must be able to lift your carry-on into the overhead storage without assistance. All carry-on bags must adhere to the following requirements:

  • Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 9 in x 16 in x 20 in (23 cm x 40 cm x 51 cm)
  • Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage: 10 kg (22 lb) in Economy Class and 15 kg (33 lb) in Club Class

REMINDER: Bulkhead seats do not have underseat storage during take-off and landing.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Each bag must adhere to the below requirements:

  • Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height)
  • Maximum Weight: 44 lb/20 kg

Overweight Baggage Fees

Should passengers exceed their baggage allowance, they will have to pay excess baggage fees at Air Transat counters in the amount of $15 CA ($15 USD) on flights to and from the South/Haiti/Florida per kilogram, per flight segment, or $75 CA per bag each way and for all other destinations. 1 additional bag ouside of baggage allowance is $100 CA, and the second additional bag is $200 CA.

Bags weighing more than 44 lb may not be accepted.
