Airline Overview
Croatia Airlines began operations in August 1989 as Zagal - Zagreb Airlines. The airline changed its name to Croatia Airlines in July 1990 and is the flag carrier for the Republic of Croatia. The airline is also a member of the Star Alliance. Zagreb serves as the carrier's main base of operations and is also its headquarters. The airline operates with a modern fleet of Airbus A319's, A320's, and Bombardier Dash-8-Q400's. During the busy travel months of May through September, the carrier wet-leases Bombardier CRJ-1000 aircraft.
