Overview

Etihad Airways operates their Airbus A380-800 on long-haul flights.

This aircraft features 4 classes of service and it operates with 9 First Class suites, 70 flat bed Business seats and 415 standard Economy Class seats- in addition to 'The Residence', the only three room suite in the sky.

'The Residence' is an uber luxurious living space in the air and can seat a maximum of 2 passengers. Equipped with a living room, ensuite bathroom, and a private bedroom for ultimate comfort. Etihad's First Class First Apartment Suites on this aircraft offer flyers a private sanctuary with new features that include a chilled mini-bar, vanity unit, access to an onboard shower, and 5-star cuisine prepared by world-class chefs.

Business Class seats offer a privacy shell, 6 ft 1 inch full flat bed and direct aisle access from every seat. Each seat has 15-inch LCD screen, with noise-canceling headsets, in-seat power sockets, audio/ethernet connectivity, in-built massage, luxury comforters and pillows.

Economy Class offers a 31" inch seat pitch. The cabin is fitted with cradle-style seats that slide foward as well as recline and mood lighting that is adjusted to suit the time of day. Economy Class passengers can enjoy a variety of entertainment programs on a 10.4-inch LCD screen available at every seat.

Rear-facing aisle seat which does not offer a partition between seats which offers no privacy if you do not know your neighbor.

Incredible 1st Class experience. Seat and space are beyond expectation and servicelevel is extremely high, incl. the food (A La Carte). We had two apartments next to each other which created a feeling of a double bed. Shower (on appointment) and bathrooms are very large and have lots of extra comfort. Only downside of the separate bed is that they are very firm, we experienced the beds in the B777 (1st Class) of Etihad as more soft and therefore more comfortable. But it is a minor comment, love to fly the B380 again!

I have flown BA (b = f), VA (b), Emirates (b + f), Etihad (b), Jet (b), Singapore (b) and Korean (b) and this is by a square mile the best hard product of them all. The space is cavernous, the separate bed a dream come true and the service sublime. If you get the chance, DO IT, you won't regret it. Next on the bucket list is to treat my wife and book the adjoining apartments.

This zone is reserved for families, though the airline does not tell you that, unfortunately until you are on board and realise. Make sure you ask for the front zone if you want to avoid lots of children

This seat is directly behind the lounge section and as a consequence can be extremely noisy, depending on whether the crew manage to keep passengers quiet. It is also a much tighter seat to get into and out of than other seats in the cabin. I would avoid if possible

This seat is a great option and I highly recommend it. it is where there should be 4 seats (in the middle) but there is only 3, so you have no neighbour and some extra room. So you can have an aisle seat and not have to be woken for others to step over you as the person in 68F should step over 68G to get to the other aisle. You dont pay any extra for this seat!!

Booked this seat for my husband on a flight from JFK to Abu Dhabi and same on return. He is over 6 feet tall. As the seat next to it that would usually be on the aisle has been removed, it is essentially an aisle seat without any bumping from passengers and carts in the aisle. No additional cost to book this seat. He thought it was better than the average aisle seat.

My experience in 13C from London to Abu Dhabi was superb. The seat is very comfortable and private, the service was attentive, the food was quite good. A cut above most long-haul business class experiences I've had. I couldn't ask for more, and look forward to flying Etihad business class again.

Sat in seat 78D flying back from Abu Dhabi. Seemed to me to have more legroom than seat 44D that I sat in on the way out. The rear Cabin is quite small and cosy with good service as there are not too many seats. Even with the seat in front fully reclined I felt I had enough legroom and could see the large seatback TV screen OK Food was good with a snack at the late take off and a hot breakfast after a night flight which is so sensible.

Seat is on the main deck, 2nd row. Due to the tapering of the plane the space on the window side is narrow. Due to the stairs to upper deck there are no middle seats, giving this row a bit more privacy and quietness. Seat is quite comfortable, although a bit narrow and could do with an extra inch of leg space. Entertainment system has a big screen with good resolution. In seat power available. Food is very average and supply is limited (just 2 meals for a 13 hours flight). Abu Dhabi airport is not convenient. Long queues do to bad design and narrow spaces, no drinking water available after final security check at gate, very limited availability of restrooms, Overall not impressed, won't be my airline of choice.

Not very comfortable. Tight space. Seat did not lie completely flat and I had to keep pressing the button again and again to lean back as it would move for a second then make a clunk noise and stop. Push it again, it would move a little further then clunk.

Passengers in Row 40 have to put hand baggage in the lockers but the locker for row 40 is barely large enough to accommodate a single handbag. You will almost certainly have your bags taken rearward if you sit here with hand carry of any size. Row 41 is a bit better but still not full-size.

I sat in business class seat 12A on the outward bound of this trip, which was fab as there were two personal storage units between seat and window. Unfortunately seat 14k has 2 units, but one is sealed, making easy access to your personal kit durng the journey a little less convenient.

69D has extra legroom in that there is no seat in front of it; however, passengers in row 68DEF constantly stepped on my feet during 14 hour flight from AUH to JFK. In the future, I'll stick with the exit row (row 64 on the EY A380).

Flew Melbourne to Abu dhabi, then onto LHR. As if the lack of legroom wasn't bad enough, being rationed with small cups of water and ignored by the staff just added to the experience! At least on the second leg the staff were attentive some of the time, but still the water was rationed. Will revert to otherz again, having tried this supposed 5 star experience. Never again.

We traveled from LHR TO AUH on 25th May17. A380 is a huge aircraft,awesome.Our seats had good leg room ,and the service was nice. Our only remark is that when we did online check in most of the seats of our choice were shown occupied while on the flight we found them unoccupied.

Rows 40-48 are in the smaller, more intimate front section of the "main deck." For my next flight, I would likely choose 41C or 42C as there are no seats across the aisle. These rows are across from a storage wall and the aisle is wider. I did notice that, in front of Row 40, which is available for an extra charge, there was a lot of milling about by passenger and crew and I wouldn't pay the extra for that space. I was also pleasantly surprised by the size of the video screen as well as having first-run, still-in-cinemas films to choose from. While the seats are fairly standard width and the seat pitch is a fairly standard 31, the experience seemed more spacious.

Note that row 40 is front of the plane, if front door used all economy enters on left side so you can't sit in your seat until all are in. 40 H & J are the best seats. Overhead baggage bin for row 40 seats is tapered so it can take one walk on size bag only. Row forty has space but people congregate there to stretch legs or calm crying babies.

I would highly recommend getting a seat in this front section of the A380 between 40 and 48 as the number of seats in this section is less than any other section so it feels a bit more exclusive and private. 46K felt pretty spacious for an economy flight. Plenty of room towards the window as well. Window is on level with the seat. There were only 2 of us in the 3 seats so we were able to share the empty middle seat and get some extra room while sleeping. Food was pretty good. I in fact liked it better than the food I got in Etihad's 777 Business Class. I definitely recommend Etihad 380 and 46K is a pretty good seat.

1st time business traveller. Perth to AD was on 787 which I thought was better aircraft. staff excellent, food good, only downside was no headset to access IFE & in spite of request, I never got one so couldn't access IFE. I only expect to have to ask once so they failed on that issue. Otherwise, no problem sleeping, pod comfortable....just change the seat hardness if it's too firm! returning Oz on reciprocal flights..... so Etihad has. recommend, but that can change if they stuff up the return flights!

What a great experience from start to finish. My wife and I were allocated 15h and g on abu dhabi to lhr after our upgrade bid was accepted. So happy it was. Food when you want, wake up when asked for, comfy enough to sleep quite well, service with a smile that appeared genuine. These two seats were offset but close enough to chat. All seats give aisle access. BA please note. Top deck of A380 in these seats very quiet.. will look to travel etihad and their A380 whenever possible in future

Flew from Abu Dhabi-London on business class and was easily the best business class of any airline. The seat map shown is slightly misleading as it looks like the seats are in 2-4-2 formation when in reality they are 1-2-1. While the window seats are the best, I would really recommend any seat in the cabin, and I got about 6.5 hrs of sleep on an 8 hour flight. The service and food were phenomenal and Abu Dhabi is a great airport to transfer in. Overall, I really enjoyed Etihad business, and would recommend it over any other gulf carrier (Emirates included!)

Very good plane, exceptional food and decent IFE though had to be restarted once, plane very spacious since they removed the overhead bins in Business for the central seats. Seat is marked yellow for proximity to lavatory though really not a problem, bed was a bit short but not to bad, still managed to get 5 out of 8 hours sleep. Overall, exceptional airline to fly with especially in the newer seats.

These four seats are hard against the bulkhead and have NO recline. This results in a very cramped experience when row 47 reclines. Note: the existing comment for 48A-C and H-K is correct although recline is actually minimally impacted in those seats as the bulkhead is set back from those seats

The seat was comfortable & really good.flew economy & overall experience was good. The things I liked were the noice cancelling headphones & head pad installed seats.flew mumbai(BOM) to abu dhabi(AUH) and abu dhabi(AUH) to new york(JFK). Travelling 14 hours of flight non - stop seating is difficult but never felt tired. Overall rating 4 out of 5 stars.1 deducted for the NOT SO GOOD entertainment system. No one can beat the IFE of EMIRATES.

If you like a window seat then choose this seat but if youre like me and are obbsesed with knowing the registration then DONT sit in any window seat on A6-APA,B,C or D as it is likely that they wont go down as there automatic sleeping is really easy and unlike other business class products you can recline it as far as you like

On my connecting business class flights from Johannesburg - Abu Dhabi - London the food service was very, very slow. Had to wait almost two hours for luke warm food whereas the wine service was frequent and never ending. The continental breakfast of a lump of meat, a sliver of smoked chicken and mounds of biltong and lettuce was horrible. Later the fish dish was over cooked and tough. The latte was like dish water and the cappuccinos not hot.

My business class seat was awful - by far the worst of any of the innumerable airlines I've used. Much too short in the leg, so hard my bottom got numb, and with a rough fabric covering. I had to sit on a cushion plus two folded blankets and sleep on the blankets too because, unlike Virgin Airline, no mattress is supplied

I was sat at the very back of the aircraft and it was better than the window seat in row 25 oh and i have a funny story about that i opened the storage compartment which if you have flown on the aircraft before youll know what im talking about and there was all of the wires and the electricals for A6-APE anyway the seat is very nice to sit in but i couldnt recline my seat until we passed brussels the ife is amazing and was watching it for a majority of the flight unlike the other aircraft in etihads fleet it has a particion between the other seat thankfully i had the cabin to myself from row 23 as flight had 300 people onboard some of the controls are hard to find (you can tell its my first time on a A380) in all AMAZING flight and EXCELLENT service

For 32,000 One Way, this Suite is Awesome. Flew From Abu Dhabi to New York. I had a very comfy seat and caviar before takeoff. After Takeoff, I had a light dinner before going to bed in my double bed. Slept Like a babe. Took a shower before bed. Emirates shower is better but still okay.

Flew this on LHR-AUH. Because it's tucked in and away from the aisle, it's a very private seat. Never had any issues with lavatory next to me, although I only slept for a little bit. Service OK, I think flight attendants expected me to ask for food instead of other way around, so I wasn't served until more than halfway through the flight.

The Apartment First Class is a true "game-changer" not just in seating but in everything about the travel experience. The amount of space, the sense of privacy, the service are all amazing. Food (and its service) were top-notch.I was a little concerned about sitting in 5C, as it rear-facing, the last row, and just in front of the really large galley that serves both first and business class. It was never an issue: I was never disturbed by light or noise. Flew 2H on the way out, no problems at all. The shower room is very good, and great amenities (Le Labo). Lounges in SYD and AUH are very very nice.

I flew from ABU-SYD on this A380, in seat 19H. Although Business Class was pretty well booked, I found the mini-cabin of rows 19-onward to be very private, and was not affected by the lavatories. A curtain is drawn between the area and the cabin and I was able to sleep without any interruptions. The meals during the 13.5 hour flight were great, although I was completely ignored for the first half hour of the initial service; couldn't figure out why as FA's passed me several times and could visibly see I had nothing- I walked to the galley and requested a beverage and the china cup of warm nuts, to a defensive response. The rest of the way, I had surprisingly had food!! Some FA's were engaging, whereas others should not have been on board as they clearly were not in a good mood- similar to the Supervisor gate agent prior to boarding from Doha to Abu Dhabi - she was so rude and had no customer care.

I took First Class/The Residence from LA to Abu Dhabi, and I have to say, it surprised me, the Residence was great, we had priority boarding, and the privacy is awesome. The lounge is also really good. I really suggest you try the Residence (If you are rich enough) :)

Note that the seat map says seat 40K has extra legroom. The exit has a compartment protruding out the door. Your right arm and your legs are blocked by this. You can slightly put your legs out to the side but this is not at all ideal. Apart from 40A which has the same issue, the other seats on row 40 cost more money which you pay when choosing the seat (for LHR-AUH I remember it being about £40 and for AUH-SYD around £90). The standard economy class seats are more comfortable than 40K or 40A.

Window seat, i found that this seat was great, plenty of leg room and space generally, i did not find the plane at all cold either, i have booked the same seat for my return from Abu Dhabi to Heathrow in March. This is an exit row seat and this row is probably the best option on this flight in economy. As there are no toilets for the passengers in this area no one congregates and on my flight passengers were asked to leave this area when they chose to stand nearby. Due to the space at this part of the aircraft there was plenty of room so no issues if in the aisle seat and potentially being bumped by the food trolley. The only issue with this row is that it is the last boarding zone and right at the entrance of boarding - firstly little room left for carry on storage and you have to stow your luggage when in an exit row, secondly you are in the way when other passengers are boarding. Window is not really in this row and access more for row 41 so should be advertised as no window.

Due to the width of the fuselage begining to reduce at this point there is restricted room for your left arm. Also when the door is closed, a large protrusion restricts left leg room. So 40B and 40C are much better.

While 20K is an OK seat, I strongly recommend *avoiding* the rear Business Studio cabin on Etihad's A380. Service is notably worse compared to being in the forward cabin (meals and drinks take forever to be brought), which I think is because the rear cabin tends to be the kiddies cabin (therefore the sub-par staff seem to be put here, as less likely to generate complaint).

Seat 8A is one of the few Business Studio seats that has a un-narrowed foot box (if there is a seat in front then the foot box area will taper on one side, pushing one foot back towards to centre - not comfortable for those lying in their backs) and given the reasonable space from the circular lounge area iisnt going to be as bad as is made out here (the lounge on Etihad's A380 isnt really a party zone like Emirates' A380 Bar tends to be). It's the best choice if you want a roomy footbox (given the others with expanded footboxes have more problems).

Flew from Abu Dhabi on the A380 inaugural flight to Sydney. Seat was great for the leg room and no people milling around. However, found the seat hard and uncomfortable, needed the blanket to give a bit of cushion. Passengers in other seats were also complaining of hard seats. Menu handed out bore no relevance to the food provided during the flight. The last meal served was a choice of fish or fish after 10 hours flying. I understand there was a lot of wastage as people did not want the fish. Have flown Etihad many times, but this could be the last. Was not impressed with aircraft or staff. Differently not the level of service to be expected from the supposedly number one airline.

If there is a better seat on this superb aircraft I do not know where it is, enough leg room if you are 10 foot tall and the seats are as comfortable as I have sat on whilst flying. As you quite literally are sat at the front of the aircraft it is also extremely quiet.
