Overview

Korean Air's A380-800 aircraft is the largest in the airline's fleet. It is equipped with 407 seats spread over 2 floors and offers three classes of service: First, Prestige, and Economy. First Class seats are open Kosmo suite flat bed seats. All Prestige seats are located on the second floor and are Prestige Sleeper flat bed seats. Although these seats are designated as flat-bed seats that recline 180 degrees, passengers have found the seat backs do not seem to recline fully parallel to the floor. Passengers often complain about this plane getting hot and stuffy as you are unable to direct or adjust the air vents on this aircraft.

All seats in this aircraft are fitted with AVOD entertainment and in-seat power ports.

seat 57J yes it is a middle seat towards the very back rows in the main cabin, but it is comfortable enough for a 6hr flight because Korean Air did not jam another 100 seats in the Airbus like some other 380 carriers did. Only fits a total 407 on the entire aircraft also thanks to the entire upper deck of Prestige Class.

The one question no one really answered was whether or not you could get to the isle if you had a window seat and the person next to you had the seat fully flat. In Prestige, upper deck. Well, the answer is only if step over the person's legs, which is doable, just awkward. ALSO, I had the isle and when the flight attendants serve the person at the window seat, it is very difficult if your seat is reclined at all. So I think it's 50/50 on which seat you get. However, the window seat does have storage boxes, which are really nice.

Korean airlines have the roomiest economy seats on any transpacific flight I have taken. I only have experience on the upper level which I think feels less crowded than the lower level.

My wife and I took KE121 ICN-SYD on 10 Feb 2018. The seat itself was comfortable and we especially liked the 'eating' position for the meal services. As a bed it was fine, and a good long sleep was possible. On the downside, the arrangement for a couple who still talk to each other, was burdensome. The divider, even fully lowered, was a real barrier to conversation - as was the fixed reading light. The small shelf at the front of the cubicle, later part of the bed, was a help in conversation when used as a seat. Caveat: row 3 is immediately in front of the galley and with the crew seemingly opening and closing the storage cupboards for long periods became wearisome. Avoid this row if possible. As always, KE cabin crew were splendid.

Seat was comfortable and service was great. I am 6ft and had no issues with the flat bed. The one major issue I had with the flight was how hot they keep the cabin. I brought a portable fan after reading come comments. I had to ask them to turn down the temperature and they did by .5 degrees putting the cabin at a toasty 77.5. It pretty much ruined the flight for me.

Sat in the rear half of Prestige Class. It was very comfortable. The lie flat was as good as I've had elsewhere. The IFE was mediocre so bring a charged tablet. The bimbibap (sp?) was good. The breakfast was not very good. Very attentive service. As others have suggested the drinks are served in thimble sized glasses so ask for refills, they will gladly bring them. Unispired service, but I would fly them again. Nothing wrong, just nothing stellar.

This is the worst seat ever on this airplane. Any further back an i would have been seated outside the plane. In additio, with peploe sitting in 59I and J, it is virtually impossible to get out to use the toilet. I was assigned this seat by Delta air, and despite the fact that i have elite status, I personaaly feel that this is the worst seat I haver occupied. Cabin attendants virtually ignored us and the seat, by virtue of its locacatiin, makes it imposible to even try to lean on the windo. NEVER AGAIN on korea air.

One of the worst business class seats. It reclines up to 170 degrees. Small for a 6,2" like me. The service on board has a mediocre food, average beverage selection and awful movie selection. Cabin crew could not be more indifferent to non-Koreans. First and last time flying this airline. For the same price there are better options. Also be aware, there is no bonus miles or qualifying miles with other Skyteam partner airlines, just base miles.

Seat 58G is almost right at the back of the aircraft. The rear compartment is smaller and quieter on the A380 and this isle seat has more leg space than the isle seats on the window sides of the aircraft which have an electronic box in the way.There is space also at the rear to stand up and walk around a little in the duty free area. In general over many Korean aircraft types they tend to provide more than pretty much everyone else I have traveled with.

If travelling Economy this is easily the best seat on Korean's Airbus 380: there is no seat ahead of it. This seat is an aisle seat in the middle and on the Seoul-New York route of approximately 14 hours, it is a blessing. Second best choice: 46E since there is no 46D. I noticed the bulkhead seats in this section had very good leg room. However, on my NYC-Seoul return flight there were squealing infants galore. The exit row leg room was enormous. Korean's service is commendable; the food is not. The toilets are spic and span.

Seat is very comfortable. when passenger in front has his seat back it is still spacious. seat has a very comfortable incline when put back. space between chair and window is great distance to rest upon with a travel pillow. never felt not even one turbulence. take off and landing are surprisingly smooth. hardly felt it. tip for all that complain about the food. ahead of time request kosher meals. you will be served first because it is already reserved for you. as soon as i walk in the plane and i am making myself comfortable i am approached confirming my special meal and if i want it heated up when served. look at the menu online and see all the choices you have and reserve ahead of time.

This seat number only has one stowage since the hatch beside the window passenger can't be opened/stowage not functional. The functional one is not the one beside you, so it will take a little more effort when reaching for some items in the stowage (like taking off seatbelt and scooting forward).

Service was great but seat was one of the most uncomfortable biz class seats I've experienced (at least for sleeping). I'm 6'5" and although I'm on the long side for most biz class seats, I can usually fit. This seat was almost designed to be tortuous if you are over 5'10". The foot rest hit my calves if open and made a uncomfortable bump if closed. The head rest limits how high one can lie comfortably. Net result is that a curled up fetal position is the only lying position possible and I got very little sleep. I have not tried the alternative airlines for this route (Seoul-LAX) but will be. Seat is not full flat, but that wasn't the issue. Technology & storage was fine.

The rear section of the A380 is great for an economy seat. It might take a long walk to get to the section but it is smaller and much more private that the other sections. That and the fact that there are two bathrooms at the rear make it a good seat to grab. The duty free shop is also located in the lack of the section and it is a wonderful place to stretch your legs on those 14 hour flights to Songdo. Food was ok but being in the back they run out of some of the choices early. I grabbed a sandwich at JFK to supplement my meals. Harder to do on the return trip but a muffin from the DD helped. Decent leg room - aisle is the only way to go. Will chose again for my next business trip. A380 is a massive plane - you really can't tell if it is landing or taking off.

I would rate the Prestige Class experience 3.5-4 stars out of 5. Service is considerate, but attendants don't anticipate your requests. Also, they will give you a glass of champagne and promptly remove the glass after you've consumed it vs. offering more. The seats are large and of decent length. Although they are billed as lay flat, it's not fully 180 degrees flat IE it's slightly angled. Worst part of the whole flight is the temperature. They keep the cabin quite warm throughout the whole flight which for my really made it tough to sleep.

The seat is very wide and suite is roomy but for some reason it never felt very comfortable. I really couldn't find a comfortable seating position. Food was so so and bar selection was minimal. Bathroom was average size but very clean. This seat is right in front of galley and at times can get noisy. Ambient temperature and noise level was very good.

Spacious cabin but old seat style.Movie selection poor and screen a long distance away. Cabin temperaturevery warm as temperature set to high. No airvent .The standard of service is the worst I have experienced in a business cabin for a long time. Plastic left on dishes, no wine offered with pre dinner appetizer. Pineapple and orange juice with dinner? Woken up to full lighting for breakfast. These lights can be turned up slowly. Didn't appreciate the way it was done. Certainly nothing met my expectation of a premium cabin. Crew very robotic.

The first thing that you notice is the amount of room. Even when fully flat, your feet are still far from the seat in front. I love it because your feet do not have to be stuck into the cubby in the seat in front of you (like in the UA seats, for example). Also, the person in the window seat does not have to do any acrobatics when trying to get out. The seat itself is comfortable, feels roomy and the controls are accessible and clear. The service in KL is great, the food OK, the entertainment selection leaves a lot to be desired. There was no noise from the bar in the back. All in all a very pleasant experience. I'd take KL anytime over any U.S. airline!

You can hear people talking in the bar very clearly. Even when light is turned off in the cabin, the light from the bar sneaks around curtain.

Korean Air did the smart thing and junked the standard Airbus interior and seats in coach and use seats and luggage bins from Boeing 777. Huge difference because the luggage bins in Airbus interior come so low its claustrophobic and the media boxes under every seat in Airbus interior means you have no place for your feet. Kudos to Korean Air for dumping the lousy Airbus interior.

Kudos to Korean Air for not jamming us 'cattle class' passengers in to sardine seats. The bit of extra leg room is great, the flight attendants were fantastic. Food is not the best, but it seems this depends on the city where the caterer is. Food out of NYC and Seoul was so-so, but on previous flight best food was out of Bangkok. As experienced air travelers, we have been on a good number of Airlines. Korean Air has been the best business class experience yet. I read some of the negative reviews and I can't believe they flew on the same plane. The A380 is simply a phenominal airplane. The crew is incredibly attentive and professional. The seats are very comfortable, the food excellent and decent wine. The entertainment system was superb.. they even had the Academy award winning film "In the Heat of the Night" with Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger. Never saw that on an aircraft entertainment system. We highly recommend this airline and aircraft.

The Korean Air experience is superb especially on this aircraft. The seats are comfortable, the food and drink are excellent and the service is better than any carrier I have ever experienced. The inflight entertainment was terrific also.

All of the seats in the forward business cabin (rows 7-14) are subject to excessive galley noise. I would advise selecting a seat in mid cabin. The staff is overly attentive to such an extent that they woke us at 3 AM over the Artic to serve us dinner. Bong, Bong, lights up, everybody wake up it's time to eat. We still had four hours left in the flt from Atl. to ICN. I specifically asked to be left alone and sleep. It made no difference as the ambient clattering of dishware made it impossible to sleep. The headphones are not noise cancelling, bring your own. The seats were fine, the video selection somewhat limited. I used the music channels to attempt to cancel out the cabin noise. As to the bar at the forward and rear of the business section, a waste of space and serves only as an ad for Absolute. The beer and wine selection were limited and the food was passable at best. I would not recommend this airline

A horrible business class experience. Too much noise from the bar area woke us up the few times we managed to actually get some sleep on the very uncomfortable seats. A long way short of the standard set by Singapore and Emirates. Will be my last trip on Korean.

The flight is pretty awesome as is the seat, however, I really missed having air vents that you can point and adjust.Airbus seems to leave these out. The folks at Korean air keep the planes a bit warm. 13 hours of being hot was fairly uncomfortable.
