These seats are just behind the wing, giving a nice view of the scimtar winglet set up. Viewing out the window is not obstructed. Decent viewing can be afforded to the seat B person without getting in to seat A personal space. At 6'1", definitely can tell the spacing is changing on the planes, but not cramped yet.

After reading much of the bad press about this plane, I found this seat surprisingly comfortable while flying EWR-SAN. Legroom was sufficient.

Flew KOA to SFO and found the seats were fine. They are marked as red due to no recline, but the seats actually had 3-4 inches of recline. Still disappointed though that United does not have seat back entertainment systems on this plane.

This comment applies to ALL first class seats on United. When it comes to food, although it may be complimentary, UA does NOT follow the "FEBO" (first even, back odd) rule to offer meal choices. Rather, they offer meal choices based on elite status and even if you are paying a FULL FIRST CLASS fare, as I was on this flight, you won't get your first choice of meal unless you are 1K with a higher status than everyone else. American Air is a much better choice, where you can pre-order your meal up to 30 days in advance right on their website, and be certain that you'll get something edible!

I think the legroom is great on 1A and I am 6' tall... allowed to extend my legs comfortably... The proximity to the galley is not an issue at all, crew work very quietly for a 3 hours flight SFO-SJD. No storage in front of you, but the above compartment is big enough. Very good seat.

I flew 4F on IAD-SEA outbound, and 20D on the redeye return. 20D had no recline at all, but more leg room than first class, so I still rate it as mixed, and worth the economy+ upgrade. I was in 4F outbound, and was underwhelmed at the room. Not really quite enough room to cross your legs comfortably, or stretch out if you have a bag under the seat. Not worth the first class upgrade IMO.

This seat has a slightly misaligned window, but due to the location of the engine cowling this isn't a big deal. The view forward is unimpeded. I would recommend removing the red from this seat.

I can handle limited recline; but the pitch of this seat is ridiculously uncomfortable, especially with this added 3inch head rest pad. If it could be removed maybe that would help. Also due to the angle of the fuselage and the grey box underneath the seats, your footspace is smaller than normal.

This was a decent seat for a domestic first class. It was the older version with no video screens in the seat back in front of you. The meal service was very good and the flight attendants were very nice. I give it an overall 7/10

This row is directly behind first class but you do have space for a small bag under the seat. The seat is listed as economy plus however the width seems small. Definitley a tight squeeze.

For the last 4 rows of the plane there is no overhead storage as it is used for crew luggage on Port and liferaft/lifesupport to Starboard. Having a young family of 4 and 1 carry on with diapers/food/toys etc that we were had to gate check. United knew this before hand due to our seat assignment. We scrambled to repack and move things around, just another stress for families traveling.

First row window seats have the storage pocket on the wall beside the seat instead of on the bulkhead. It's more roomy than the hard plastic pockets for the aisle seats and more convenient to reach. It made up for the lack of floor storage on my flight. I had access to a large hardcover book, a large tablet, and my headphones case.

Took a flight from Washington DC to Boston. Flight was short so it didn't matter that there is really limited leg room. For a longer flight I would have gotten an Economy Plus seat. Also, the guy next to me was super nice.

This is obviously a new concept plane for United, it has removed all the entertainment and shifted this to the customer, with only their WIFI offered. But the real disadvantage is the new seats that are leather and very short and narrow. Likely the most uncomfortable seat I have ever experienced and reminiscent of some I have sat in on A319's. This seat style probably allows for more passenger rows, but I will shop around a flight using this plane.

Flying many years, these seats were the most confining I have ever been assigned. Leg room and under seat storage was very uncomfortable. Every time someone used the bathroom the stench of sanitizer filled the the back of the plane. The staff was excellent and the palne was very new.

Nice new plane, but horrendous seating. Simply not enough room. This was the most uncomfortable flight I've taken in recent memory. Wifi and larger bins will never make up for the lack of space. Plus, seat is locked in a permanent 90-degree, non-reclined position.

If legroom is most important to you then this is the seat to go with. But as a petite woman, I value seat recline more than legroom and this seat definitely lacked in the former. It hardly reclines at all (but that issue is probably not exclusive to this particular seat--my friend in first class on the same flight complained about the same thing). Also, this seat is directly across the aisle from the restroom so be prepared to get some whiffs of the sweet smell as people open the door.

This plane went into service in January 2015. It has 0 AVOD and the wi-fi will not allow you to stream so if you don't have preloaded content on your own device, you are out of luck. This was a 5 hour E bound transcontinental flight and the return was 6 hours on another brand new 737-900 w/0 AVOD. The seats, even in F are uncomfortable a couple of hours into the flight. An absolutely horrible aircraft for a long flight. The toilet issue is a non-issue. The F lavatory is normal sized. The one behind row 5 is really skinny but it's not a problem. Everything else on this plane is a problem. Less recline, less pitch, less padded seats and no AVOD. Choose another aircraft or carrier if able.

With a cross country flight time of about 6 hours, I was so surprised when I boarded and got settled in my skimpy FIRST CLASS seat to discover that there was ABSOLUTELY NO INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT PROVIDED! I searched for screens on the seatbacks in front of us, in our armrests, and overhead, but nothing--not even AUDIO selections or headphones! No TV, no movies, no flight path map--NOTHING! This was first class!!! When I inquired with the flight attendant she nicely advised me that we could purchase WiFi and use our own personal devices, and that they receive constant complaints about this. Ya think? Reeeallly United??? This is unforgiveable!!

United is doing everything possible to encourage me to go shopping for another airline . 1K or Platinum 4 years in a row and I am feeling used and abused by the current management. Apparently United has decided to book people into what they think is an Economy Plus seat, but once onboard the rude facts speak for themselves. Behind row eleven you actually get a Standard seat pitch in this aircraft .. Thanks United for being a jerk and dismissing my considerable business. You could at LEAST have shown it as a Standard seat on the website. I am less and less impressed by a number of little things that add up to a distressed management ..

I was initially supposed to fly in the back of the plane but due to a change in aircraft, I swithced my seat to 12F in this version of the 737-900. This seat only has one window that is close to the seat in front. Therefore, you have to bend foward to look out the window. Seat 11A however is completely missing a window. So if you are the person who loves to look out of the wondow dont go to Seat 11A. Internet sucked. It disconnected every 5 minutes (we were flying in perfect weather over the US). No TVs or personal device entertainment which was terrible. Friendly ex-continental crew though which made the flight great

No in-flight entertainment at all for this 4.5 hour flight (segment 1) and 2.5 hour flight (segment 2). Bathroom in 1st class was the smallest we have ever experienced except in a commuter jet. This is a relatively new plane and yet no one sought input from the cabin or flight crew, nor any passengers. Food choice was mediocre; however, cabin service was excellent.

All i have to say is, wow! Such a next gen plane, with the sky interior lighting, it was awesome. The fact that there are no TVs shouldn't bother anyone since because they have their united wifi, you can watch free movies on your personal device. It does cost money to use wifi for more than movies, but I didn't need anything more. The legroom is incredible, even though I wasn't sitting in economy plus, and because of the type of plane and the scimitar winglets and such, it is really quiet and fuel efficient. Plus there are outlets in between the seats. By far my most enjoyable flight of my life. United flight 512 PHX-DEN January 1 2015

This flight was horrific. I've flown on these new United planes before and they've been bad (flimsy seats, very tight, etc.), but this back row that I got stuck in, so bad that I'd prefer to not get on another flight with this seat. I knew the seat wouldn't recline, but it's so rigid and upright that it's actually painful. And the pitch! I can tell you that they skimped on the pitch in this row too. How do I know? I had so little room that I could NOT get my bag back in my lap after I had it on the floor. On a later flight when I was in row 30A, I could, with the same bag. So if they say that back row has the same amount of space/pitch, they're lying. Shame on United. This was an almost 5 hour flight, and I thought I'd lose my mind from being trapped in this seat, and I'm generally not the least bit claustrophobic. That's how bad it was.

Absolutely horrific aircraft all around. I am 5' 8" and 175 pounds and I felt crammed in. They advertised streaming wifi entertainement to my mobile device but I could not get it to work. Bought an hour of extremely slow wifi service. The lavatories are smaller than those on a CRJ-200, it was hard for me to move around or even get in and out. Anyone over 200 pounds or 6 feet tall would be lucky to find them useable at all. I will avoid these aircraft at all costs in the future.

Flew on a 'brand new' plane from EWR to ORD recently. Great bin space, but seat pitch was so tight with slim profile high back seats that 'twiggy' sized woman in window seat was unable to access underseat item after she was seated. Very claustrophobic feeling with prior row seatback literally inches from my nose. 2 1/2 hours was about maximum bearable in these seats. Use restroom prior to boarding as getting in and out from these seats is more of a challenge then ever.

Seat is a regular Economy plus seat. The seat ajacent 12D is not an Economy Plus seat.However the airline sold them as Economy Plus seats and many people were complaining with the stewardesses about that, so be careful to choose these seats prior to the departures.

This is a horrid aircraft. United has jammed as many seats on to this plane that it can. First Class has less room than previous versions as well. Also 2 less inches of recline. We were the 2nd revenue flight of this thing and underseat storage very limited as well. Bathrooms are tight too.....
