This new reconfiguration seats a total of 485 passengers: 14 First class suites, 70 fully-flat Business class skybeds, 60 Premium Economy seats and 341 Economy seats. The first reconfigured aircraft entered service in 2019.

The last three rows of premium economy (38/39/40) on the reconfigured Qantas A380 are where the aircraft starts to narrow slightly; so the window seats (like 39K) don’t have as much headroom as the rows in front, or the handy storage bins beside the arm of the chair.

Layout 2 of the A380 is bad news for economy fliers. With the upstairs economy section now turned into premium economy, the downstairs economy seats are completely packed. Air staff are inattentive. The back of the plane tends to be packed with children. I used to prioritise the A380 for the upstairs economy section, but now I see no advantage to this plane over other airlines.
